Menopause and women's health case studies from our Dubai clinic
When you are exhausted, anxious or simply not feeling like yourself, it can help to read about someone who has been there too. These case studies follow women we have cared for at Menovivre, from the first conversation with their doctor to how they are doing months later.
Each story is written by the doctor who led her care and shared with the woman’s written permission. You will see what we looked for, why each step of her plan was chosen, and how her symptoms and blood results changed along the way. If something in her story sounds familiar, you are not imagining it, and our team at our menopause clinic in Dubai is here to help you find out what is going on.
Case study 01
Getting her energy back after ovarian surgery and menopause
A woman in her early 50s
Her periods stopped within months of surgery on one ovary, and two years of exhaustion, broken sleep and weight gain followed. Hormone therapy came first. Repeat blood tests three months in found Hashimoto’s thyroiditis at an early stage, so we added a low dose of thyroid medication and changes to her food.

Finding calm before her period again
A woman in her early 40s
Two years of family illness, loss and caregiving had left her overwhelmed, tearful and tired, and it was always worst before her period. Her blood tests did not point to perimenopause. We focused on the second half of her cycle, her stress hormones, her iron and her evenings.

About our case studies
A: Yes. Each story comes from the care of a woman treated at Menovivre and is written by the doctor who looked after her. She reads it before it is published and gives her written consent, and we change details such as her name, age and dates so that she cannot be identified.
A: Your plan would be built around you. It starts with your own symptoms, history and test results, so two women with similar symptoms can need quite different care. What stays the same is how we work: time to talk, thorough testing, a plan made for you and regular reviews to fine-tune it.
A: We look at two things together. Repeat blood tests, usually every few months until things are stable, show what is changing inside. Just as important is how you feel: your sleep, energy, mood and how you are coping day to day. We ask about both at every review.
A: Functional medicine means looking for what sits behind your symptoms, such as a thyroid condition, low iron or a long stretch of stress, and treating those alongside your hormones. At Menovivre it works hand in hand with conventional medicine and standard blood testing, and each case study explains why every step of the plan was chosen.
Each case study on this page is published with the patient’s written consent. Her name, age and dates have been changed or removed to protect her identity, and no photographs of her appear on these pages.
These pages describe individual women’s care under the supervision of a DHA-licensed physician at Menovivre Clinic. They are general information, not medical advice, and they do not replace a consultation. Every treatment described here has risks as well as benefits, which were discussed with each patient before it started. There is no guarantee that the result will be the same, as it might vary from one individual to another. Please speak to a doctor about your own situation.
